WW1 Wilkinson Army Service Corps Sword £400

A not often seen sword to the Army Service Corps, the sabre being a regimental variant of the three bar 1821 artillery hilt. Swords in these regiments were still important parts of war as rear echelon soldiers were often vulnerable and aside from guards often unarmed men (needing both hands to perform their duties), a melee weapon was invaluable to the officers leading these men.

This sword is a Wilkinson made piece dating to WW1, the Wilkinson ledger is sadly blank as with many of these swords going to the front in the War were rushed into the hands of officers trained and shipped out in a hurry. This sabre is initialed P.D. so it would potentially be possible to do further research based on those initials.

This sword can be yours for £400 or best offer.
