An incredible example of a pre regulation slot hilt spadroon in the style of those early silver pieces made by Thurkle.
This piece would originally have been carried by an army or militia officer and it is of exceptional quality, the blade is a slender single edged piece atop a beautifully cut steel guard covered in almost Italian styled file work and an ivory grip surmounted with silver and copper wire.
The scabbard is it is one of the more interesting types more commonly considered to be one of the militia style scabbards as seen in early 1770's Britain or Colonial America. Reduced to £850 for Swordvent.
