This is a rare example of a 14th to 15th century European rondel dagger, this is one of the oldest pieces that has passed out of my collection and gone for sale. These daggers were carried by a range of people from common tradesmen all the way through to the ruling elite, they were a sensible design and they worked well, the only difference usually being the amount of decoration.
This example made its way to me from Northern France near the German border and is stunning.
The blade is quadraform coming to a sharp tip, the guard shows the hollow brazed steel sections around what I believe is a bronze disc, the pommel disc is bronze.
This dagger has been reduced to £1650 or best offer.
