A rare example of a 1786 style sabre with a steel hilt and a blue and gilt blade, this sword came with an attributation label to the Cinque Port Volunteers who were active from 1794 to 1816, as a volunteer officers sword it is unlikely I will be able to add more research to this sabre keeping the attributation to a minimum but also keeping the price down. The sword was made by Runkel of Solingen and retailed in the UK, the blue and gilt has some wear and is better on one side than the other. The hilt has some signs of ageing but is generally in good condition. This sword can be yours for £775 or best offer.
