A nice example of one of the US military swords dating to between 1840 to 1860, these swords are interesting examples of an irregular officers weapon from the middle of the 19th century, often the militias were not much more than social groups with these swords being mainly ceremonial but these are a nice rare example of a cruciform piece still being carried rather late into modern warfare.
