Here we have an interesting piece, a rarely found in Europe, Ethiopian saif of the form used by the Northern tribal military. It is of a similar form to the more commonly seen Ethiopian military saif.
The saif is a single edged cut and thrust blade (rarely seen with a sharpened back edge beyond the curve of the point) of a similar style to that of the European broadsword with a minimal hilt consisting of a grip and equal nodule like upper and lower guards. This example has a triple-fullered German export blade and a dried hide hilt of the same material as seen in Ethiopian shields.
This not often found piece can be yours for only £145 or best offer.
