A spectacular example of a c1800 onfantry officers sabre in the style of a 1796 light cavalry sword.
This sword, as is typical for the type, is unmarked and flat bladed. The fittings being steel may indicate it being a rifle officers sword.
These swords are often called "flank officers" sabres and associated with light infantry and grenadier regiments.
The scabbard fittings are of a better quality than is often seen on these pieces which are usually plain and made of brass.
The sword is in great near mint condition with just some cosmetic wear, sadly the grip is missing or was made without the silver wire you would expect with these swords.
This sword can be yours for £1045 or best offer.
