An interesting dastana arm protection from South India likely dating to the late 17th or early 18th Century.
This piece has an interesting patterning on the steel very similar to a damascus barrel of a gun which makes me believe that this has been given a faux damascus finish or potentially it is actual pattern welded steel but I wouldn't like to remove the lovely warm patina to etch.
The dastana has its internal wrist band and hinges as well as its cloth lining which has faded with age. This piece can be yours for £575 or best offer.
