A c1650-1680 sword, likely Swiss but potentially Dutch or Northern European of the Felddegen style.
The sword is covered in engravings including the legends "To conquer or to die", "In times of war, the law falls silent" and "If God is with us, who can be against us" and multiple engravings of various birds of prey.
The blade is a slender backsword with a double edged spearpoint towards the tip, the hilt has an S guard with lion or dog head finials, a pommel of the same beast with a chain and a wire wrapped grip.
