What we have here is an interesting example of a Jian, these are one of the traditional swords of China, this one dates to the late Qing dynasty or the 19th century. These straight swords come in a variety of sizes with this one being in the short to mid range. The hilt is of the standard "ace of spades" pattern and a triangular point typical of arms of this type.
The scabbard is bare wood with its brass mounts. The piece is of average quality and there is some ageing to the blade.
This sword can be yours for £395 or best offer.
