This dagger dating from the 1880's is a rather delightful prestige piece, most likely part of a Madhist warriors panoply of war alongside his spear, shield, sword and axe. These daggers were often worn on the wrist as well as on the belt.
Originally this dagger would have had a crocodile skin sheath which sadly is lost to time.
