17th Cent Patterned Shamshir £1750

A mid to late 17th century sword with a blade by Kalb Ali, the son of Assadullah Isfahani. This is a rare example of this maker with only a scant few dozen in private hands and almost as rare as the legendary father Assadullah Isfahani. The blade is a good example of a workmanlike sword made by a master craftsman with an incredible balance point and weight dispersal given by the distal taper, the smooth yelman and deep wide fuller making this sword feel weightless and free flowing in the hand. The hilt is made of organic slabs pinned to the tang in the shamshir style of Iran leading me to believe this sword did not travel far once it was made, likely produced for a fighting man of means. This sword can be yours for £1750
